Staph

I heard from the dermatologist this morning. Ava tested positive for staph, (not mrsa) as did Bjorn. The doctor is going to treat all of us though just to be on the safe side. So..Ava is on another medication. Bjorn and I are will be on meds also. Anyway..Ava is doing much better. Her skin is looking so good and her head is healing well.

A solution?

Well we had her doctor appointment this morning. I think it went pretty well.He used magnifying glasses and took some cultures from her head and legs. He is pretty sure she just has massive infection in her body. He said somewhere along the way, probably not long after she had roseola she picked up an infection. Since it wasn't caught it just grew and grew into a head to toe rash. He said it may be a staph infection, I hope it's not though. We should find out at the beginning of next week. He also took cultures from me and Bjorn and well. He asked if we had any rashes and we said no, he then asked if we'd had any problems with our noses and we both said we have had a sore in our nose. He said if our culture comes back positive we will be but on medicine as well, he said no point just treating her if we all have it, we would just keep passing it around. So now she is on an oral antibiotic, a steroid cream, new shampoo, and 2 new lotions. It's a lot and I think I'm going to have to work out a schedule to remember what to do when. He wants to see her back next Friday to see if it's working. I just hope we are finally on the road to recovery.

Thanks for all your caring thoughts!

Getting worse...

So Ava really isn't doing any better, if fact she is a lot worse. The shampoo that they prescribed us gave her huge puss filled sores on her head. She has one huge one on the top of her head and then just today another one popped up behind her ear. I stopped using in of course but now I don't know how her fungus can go away if I can't use the shampoo.

There is a blister back on her left leg also, it's about the size of a orange. It's hurting her pretty bad. She is having a hard time with her diaper being on.

We were happy that her rash hadn't spread to her face but that changed this morning. She woke up and had them all over her face. She looks so awful! I called the doctor this morning and after quite the hassle got her an appointment tomorrow at 8am with a dermatologist. I just pray that they can figure out what is wrong.

Here is the rash on Ava's leg. It's a lot worse in person. It was bugging her so bad she wouldn't leave her pants on. She has the same thing on her face now.
