Skin problems....again.

Ava has skin problems again. How this little girls stays so happy I'll never know.

She has had eczema since she was just a couple of months old so we have had to deal with that. Last winter was horrible. This year her eczema has been great, barely any flare-ups at all. Of course we couldn't get off that easily. Not too long ago she had Roseola. When that finally went away she came down with a skin fungus. We were given cream for it and that to eventually went away. Last Sunday we noticed that she had a huge blister like sore on her left hip right under her diaper. Bjorn thought it was her eczema so we started putting some of her Elidel on it. That did nothing. It started getting worse, she started getting dots all over her body and legs. When she got her 18 month shots they had a problem with the freezer and she had to be vaccinated again so we thought that had something to do with it. We decided to bring her to the Doctor on Wednesday. It turns out that she has a fungus on her head that she has to now have special shampoo for and a fungus on her leg that she has to have some more cream for. To top it all off she has what is called Molluscom Contagiosum. It's a skin disease that is caused by a virus on the skin. There is nothing they can do for it (The doctor said in older kids they will freeze the spots off but not in the little ones) and it can last anywhere from months up to years. She looks awful. Her legs are the worst. Thankfully none of it has gotten to her face and I hope that it stays that way. It bug her a little bit and everyonce in awhile she will say "Owie" but other that that doesn't complain all that much.

I feel so sad for her. I just thank God that she is so easy going and happy. I don't know what we would do otherwise. Hopefully this will all be over sooner rather than later.
